Unified Vietnam, Humane Living, September 23rd, 1987, Michel Nr. 1831; A single stamp with a nominal of 5D and perforation 13 was issued. The sheet contained eight rows of ten stamps each (80) and it was printed on white and grey paper.

Single franking of the 5D value on a letter sent from HCM City to a soldier in Siem Riep (Cambodia) in July of 1989. This shows that mail sent to the Cambodian occupation zone carried the inland postage.

Registered air mail letter sent in December of 1987 as a mixed currency franking from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The letter carries a pair of the Humane Living stamps plus stamps from the Water and Mountain Spirit, Old Ships, October Revolution and Day f the Child sets. The Day of the Child stamp was still denominated in old Dong while all other stamps were already denominated in new Dong. The Vietnamese Government conducted a devaluation of the Dong on September 14th, 1985. This meant that all stamps issued prior to this date were only worth one tenth at the time of mailing. The overall postage hence amounted to 5 oD =0.5 nD. plus the stamps in new Dong ( 133 nD) plus the red free frank for 1,110 nD for 1,243 nD. Green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Registered air mail letter sent in February of 1988 as a mixed currency franking from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The letter carries two blocks of four of the Humane Living stamps on white and grey paper. The top left stamp on the first block shows the plate error of “small passer cross at bottom left of stamp image”. Error stamps on postally used cover are very rare.There are also stamps from the ITALIA Stamp Exhibition, Paracel and Spratley Islands and Animals and Plant sets. The Animal and Plant stamps were still denominated in old Dong while all other stamps were already denominated in new Dong. The Vietnamese Government conducted a devaluation of the Dong on September 14th, 1985. This meant that all stamps issued prior to this date were only worth one tenth at the time of mailing. The overall postage hence amounted to 5 oD =0.5 nD. plus the stamps in new Dong (63 nD) plus the red free frank for 1,180 nD for 1,243.50 nD. Green Fulda custom cachet on front.

The letter carries the October Revolution souvenir-sheet plus stamps from the National Assembly, Communist Party, Water and Mountain Spirit, Butterflies, Humane Living and Vietnamese-Soviet Peace Agreement sets for an overall postage of 569D (including the red free frank for 383D). The 4D Communist Party stamp is in the rare perforation 11:12.5. Souvenir-sheets on postally used cover are very rare. Fragment of the green Fulda custom cachet on front.

The letter carries half of the perforated Cacti stamp set plus stamps from the Bird (imperforate), Water and Mountain Spirit, Humane Living plus the military free frank issued in 1987. Imperforate stamps on postally used cover are very rare. Since the military free frank had a 5D nominal it was valid for international postage. The letter carries the other half of perforated Rose set in matching sheet corner pieces with sheet numbers plus stamps from the October Revolution, Corals, Humane Living and Motor Cycles sets. The Motor Cycle stamps were still denominated in old Dong while all other stamps were already denominated in new Dong. The Vietnamese Government conducted a devaluation of the Dong on September 14th, 1985. This meant that all stamps issued prior to this date were only worth one tenth at the time of mailing.
