Unified Vietnam, Birds, June 15th, 1979, Michel Nr. 1044-1051; Eight stamps in the nominals of 12 xu (two stamps), 20 cu, 30 xu, 40 xu, 50 xu 60 xu and 1 Dong were issued perforated 12.25:12 and imperforate.

International letter sent in August of 1979 to Columbus, United States and featuring the 20 xu Bird stamp plus two of the 1D Engels stamps paying an overall postage of 2.50D (full contents preserved).

International letter sent from Ha Tinh Province to Sacramento in the United States using the 50xu Bird stamp plus the 1D Air Defense stamp paying an overall postage of 1.50D. Yellow U.S. forwarding label on front.

Registered air mail letter sent from Gia Loo (small post office) to Switzerland featuring the 1D Bird stamp plus a pair of the 60 xu Bird stamps paying an overall postage of 2.20D.

Rare registered express mail letter sent from Hai Phong to Klewitz in February of 1980. The letter carries half of the perforated set plus a number of the Total Liberation stamps for a total postage of 4.80 Dong. Fulda arrival cancel on the reverse. Green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Very rare registered express mail letter sent to Klewitz in February of 1980. The letter carries half of the im-perforated Birds set plus a number of the Total Liberation stamps for a total postage of 4.82 Dong. Fulda arrival cancel on the reverse. Unusual hand made express mail label.

Very rare registered express mail letter sent to Klewitz in April of 1980. The letter carries the other half of the im-perforated Birds set plus a number of the Gold Fish stamps for a total postage of 4.82 Dong. Fulda arrival cancel on the reverse. Unusual hand made express mail label.

Registered letter sent from Nguyen Trai to Klewitz in October of 1982. It carries a strip of three of the 50 xu Year of Child stamps that shows a printing error of the red color. Error stamps on postally used cover are very rare. There are also two military free franks. These stamps were only intended for domestic mail and due to the fact that they carried no nominals were not permitted for international mail. Nevertheless they were obviously accepted by the postal clerk. There are also three of the Bird stamps.The overall postage amounted to 21.21 Dong (inlcduign the red free frank of 9 Dong). Green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Registered letter sent in May of 1981 from Quan 5 (Cholon) to West Germany. It carries two pairs of the Socialist Republic 6 xu stamp that shows a variation in the size of the star. The left pair features a small star while the right pair features a large star. Also not the color variations on the brown/ochre color. There is also one of the Bird stamps. The overall postage amounted to 8.21 Dong.

Registered air mail latter sent in December of 1981 to Klewitz. It shows six pairs of the lotus flower stamp in the rare post master perforations: 9.5, 11, 14, 15, 5-6 and 9.5. It also carries two shads of the single rose stamp. 12 xu Bird stamp on the back. The overall postage amounted to 8.80 Dong  (including the 3 Dong free frank on front). Unusual red cancel. Green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Registered letter sent from Nguyen Trai to Klewitz in July of 1982. The letter  shows a block of four of the 50 xu Rhinoceros stamp that shows the “broken V in Vietnam”plate error. Together with the other NVN stamps (including four of the Bird stamps) the overall postage amounted to 8.22 Dong. Fragment of green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Very large registered letter sent from Nguyen Rai to Klewitz in June of 1982.  It carries a block of six of the red 30 xu stamp with horizontal double perforation of the lilac-red color variety and a pair of the same stamps in orange-red with the right stamp showing the “glass-eye” plate error on the right stamp. Error stamps on postally used cover are very rare. Bird set stamps in front and back. The overall postage amounted to 12.84 Dong. Faint green Fulda custom cachet on front.
