South Vietnam, Third Anniversary of the Revolution, November 1st, 1966, Michel Nr. SVN 371-374; Four stamps in nominals of 80c, 1.50D, 3D and 4D were issued in perforation 13.

These stamps were not officially released imperforate, however, a small number of imperforate trial proofs has come to market. Here is the imperforate set on un-gummed paper.

Perforation errors have become known on the 80c stamp. Below are two pairs with misplaced perforations.

Very rare single franking of the 80c value on a domestic printed matter mailing sent within Saigon. Most of these were simply tossed out and hence  are now very hard to find.

Mixed franking of the 3D Agrarian Reform Law stamp together with stamps from the Ha Tien Beach, Folk Dances and  3rd Anniversary of the Revolution sets paying an overall postage of 11D on an international letter sent from Saigon to Papua New Guinea inAugust of 1971. Papua New Guinea was a very rare destination.

Rare printed matter mailing from 1964 sent from Saigon to Argentina. Rare destination.

Rare folded letter with the military free frank that sent by registered mail by a member of the military (KBC 4757/Phu Yen Sub. Sector / Tieu Khu Phu Yen) to a civilian in Kien Phong. Since the aerogramme only covered the standard letter rate stamps in the amount of 24D were added to pay for the additional services on the reverse.

Single franking of the 1.50D value on a domestic letter sent by a member of the military (KBC 4091, a military training academy in Quan Tre) in July of 1969 to Cholon, Black KBC cachet on front. Cancelled with the “mute” military cancel Quan Buu. Cholon machine arrival cancel on the reverse. Members of the military only had to pay 50% of the standard postal tariff.

Single franking of the 1.50D value on a domestic letter paying the 50% discounted military rate and sent by a member of the military (KBC 4975/Paramilitary Police Force Headquarters) in June of 1969 to another member of the military located in 4579/Ranger Unit. Unit to unit correspondence was postage free, so this letter must have contained a personal message.  Cancelled with the “mute” military cancel Quan Buu. Red circular KBC cachet on front.

Mixed franking of the complete Third Anniversary of the Revolution set plus the 8D Sport and Youth and 1D Confucius stamps paying an overall postage of 18.30D on an international air mail letter sent from Dalat to West Germany.

Mixed franking of the 2D Private Ownership stamp together with stamps from the Flowers, UNICEF, Labor Day, National Unity and 3.Anniversary of the Revolution sets paying an overall postage of 28.70D on an international letter sent from Danang to West Germany.

Single franking of the 3D value on a letter sent by a member of the military (KBC 3318/Naval Training Center & Commissioned Officer School / Ships reporting to Naval HQ located in Nha Trang) paying the 50% discounted military tariff to a civilian in Saigon. Cancelled by the mute “Buu Dien” military cancel. Red circular KBC cachet on front.

Single franking of the 3D value on a letter sent by a member of the military (KBC 4925) to a civilian in Dinh Cuong in February of 1970 paying the 50% discounted military tariff. Cancelled by the mute “Buu Dien” military cancel. Red circular KBC cachet on front. Nice paratrooper decal on front.

Single franking of the 3D value sent in May of 1971 by a member of the military (KBC 3361 was a Navy unit in Can Tho) to a civilian in Saigon paying the 50% discounted military tariff.

Mixed franking of the 3D stamp on the Military Free Frank folded letter paying the civilian tariff of 6D and sent from Pranh Thiet to a member of the military (KBC 4324/VNAF Officer Training Academy at the Tan Son Nhut Airbase).

Mixed franking of the 3D Craft stamp (2) together with stamps from the Anniversary of the Revolution and Agrarian reform Law sets paying an overall postage of 12D on a rare printed matter mailing sent from Saigon to France in January of 1972.

Mixed franking of the 6D Indigenous People stamp together with stamps from the Democratic Constitution, Air Mail, General Mobilization and 3. Anniversary of the Revolution sets paying an overall postage of 48D on an international air mail letter sent from Hoi An to West Germany in January of 1970.

Mixed franking of the 3D Third Anniversary of the Revolution stamp plus the 50c Wandering Souls stamp paying an overall postage of 3.50D on a domestic letter sent to Hue in November of 1966.

Mixed franking of the 0.50D Fruits stamps together with the 3D Third Anniversary of Revolution stamp paying an overall postage of 4D on a surface mail letter sent from Saigon to the United States in January of 1971.

Rare multiple franking of the 3D Third Anniversary of the Revolution stamps (2) paying an overall postage of 6D on a domestic letter sent from Da nag to Cholon.

Single franking of the 4D value on a domestic letter sent by a member of the military (KBC 4322) to Saigon in May of 1968. This is the first letter that was reported from KBC 4322 and based on the departure cancel Ang Ngai the unit may have been located near there.

Mixed franking of the 80c and 3D Third Anniversary of the Revolution stamps together with stamps from the At Mail, Confucius Year, Wandering Souls, International Cooperation, Rural Youth Organization, Tru’ng Sisters and Vietnam Assistance sets paying an overall postage of 24.10D on an international air mail letter sent from Saigon to Switzerland in October of 1967.
