Another, very rare registered letter featuring the souvenir-sheet on woven paper and lighter frame colors along with a number of other NVN stamps (including three of the 6xu stamps in different color tones) for an overall postage of 6.82D. The letter was sent from Hanoi to Essen in West Germany in February of 1978.

Rare registered express mail letter sent from Haiphong to Klewitz in August of 1978. It carries the 1 Dong stamp. There are also two of the 30 Dong National Liberation Front (Viet Cong) stamps. The currency of the Viet Cong stamps represented the currency of the South Vietnamese Regime and hence was not compatible with the Dong of North Vietnam. Also Viet Cong stamps were, according to postal regulations, not to be used or cancelled in the North. This regulation clearly was disregarded in this particular case. Disregarding the technically invalid Viet Cong stamps the overall postage amounted to 4.28 Dong. Fulda arrival cancel on the reverse.

Rare express mail letter sent from Bac Lieu to Klewitz in March of 1979. It carries a number of the flower stamps but also four of the National Liberation Front (NFL) stamps and one of the 2 xu Total Liberation stamps. Two of the stamps (First Meeting of the Unified National Assembly) were already issued based on the North Vietnamese currency which made them eligible for postage in the North, however, the 30 Dong flag stamp and the 30 Dong Ho Chi Minh stamp which were still in the old South Vietnamese currency were not officially allowed for postage and should not have been recognized. Ignoring the invalid 30 Dong stamp the overall postage amounted to 4.97 Dong. Fulda custom cachet on front.

Rare registered letter sent from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz in October of 1980. It carries a variety of NVN stamps including a strip of four 10 xu flower stamps that show significant color variations. It also features a 50 xu National Liberation stamp issued in 1971. There is also the 50 xu Total Liberation stamp. NFL stamps were not valid in North Vietnam as the currency used by the Viet Cong in the South was not compatible with the currency used in the North. The stamp was nevertheless accepted by the postal clerk. Without the NLF stamp the postage amounted to 2.50 Dong. Green Fulda custom cachet on front.

It carries the 10 xu flower stamp in many different color variations. It also carries two of the 2 Dong Total Liberation stamps. The overall postage amounted to 8.28 Dong. Rare registered express mail letter sent to Klewitz in July of 1981. It carries a block of nine of the green/yellow Five Year Plan 12 xu stamp that is grossly mis-perforated. Error stamps on postally used cover are very rare. There is also a 3 Dong National Liberation Front stamp from 1970. The currency used by the NLF in the South was not compatible with the currency of the North. As a result these stamps were not valid postage there. Nevertheless it appears that the postal clerk was not aware of this fact and hence he/she accepted the 3 Dong stamp in full. The cover also carris four of the 2 Dong Total Liberation stamps. The letter also carries two military free franks that were only valid for domestic postage as they do not carry a nominal value. The 12 xu value shows various color and paper variations.

Registered letter sent to Klewitz in February of 1982. Th eletter carris three of the Five Year Plan 12 xu stamps with the white “12” and one stamp with the black over-printed “12”. Rare registered express mail letter sent to Klewitz in September of 1980. It also carries a number of the Year of the Child stamps plus a 30 xu National Liberation Front (Vietcong) stamp. Due to the fact that NFL (Vietcong) stamps were based on the South Vietnamese Dong NFL stamps were not allowed as postage in North Vietnam. This is the reason why the postal clerk did not cancel the stamp. There are the 1 Dong Total Liberation stamp. The overall postage of the letter (excluding the NFL stamp) amounted to 3.70 Dong.

Registered letter sent in May of 1981 from Quan 5 (Cholon) to West Germany. It carries two pairs of the Socialist Republic 6 xu stamp that shows a variation in the size of the star. The left pair features a small star while the right pair features a large star. Also not the color variations on the brown/ochre color. There is also the 3 xu Total Liberation stamp. The overall postage amounted to 8.21 Dong.

Rare registered express mail letter sent from Quan 5 (Cholon) to Klewitz in March of 1981. The letter carries six stamps from the Fish plus the 1 Dong Total Liberation stamp. There also is a military free frank that was issued in 1973 (in the rare version with perforation 12.5). Military free franks were not valid for international postage due to the fact that they did not carry any nominal value. Nevertheless it appears that the postal clerk accepted the stamp with a face value of 12 xu (which corresponded to the standard domestic letter rate). The overall postage amounted to 4.80 Dong. Air mail letter that carries the two 12 xu and 20 xu Flower values im-perforated and was mailed to Klewitz in October of 1981. There is also an im-perfroated 40 xu Farm Animal stamp on the reverse. 2 xu and 6 xu Total Liberation stamps on the reverse. Im-perforated stamps on postally used cover are very rare. The overall postage amounted to 2.92 Dong.

Air mail letter sent from Nguyen Trai to Klewitz in March of 1982. The letter carries half of the im-perforated Fish set plus some of the Total Liberation stamps for an overall postage of 2.70 Dong. Im-perforated stamps on postally used cover are very rare.

Rare registered express mail letter sent from Quan 5 (Ho Chi Minh City) on March 16th, 1981 to Klewitz. Interestingly the post office still struck the red First Day Cancel that was prepared for this issue. It features three of the 20 xu KPdSU stamps. The left stamp is normal. The middle stamp shows a significant passer-shift of the yellow and turquoise color to the bottom and the right stamp shows a passer-shift of the yellow and turquoise color to the left and bottom. Error stamps on postally used cover are very rare. There are also three of the Total Liberation stamps for an overall postage of  14.30 Dong (including the red free frank of 6 Dong on the reverse). It features a block of four of the 20 xu KPdSU stamp plus two pairs of the the two perforation varieties of the 12 xu Five Year Plan stamp plus one of the 6 xu Total Liberation stamps for an overall postage of 13.90 Dong. It features both color variations of the 50 xu KPdSU stamp plus one of the 2 Dong Total Liberation stamps for an overall postage of 8.20 Dong. The letter carries the entire perforated Bird set plus two of the Total Liberation stamps for an overall postage of 8.20 Dong. Note that the scan of the reverse looks like that the stamps on the sids have been cut off but this is not the case. They are only hidden under a strip of paper. The zero money red free frank was required to produce the R-label as it came out of the same machine. Green Fulda custom cachet on front.

The letter carries a number of Michel Nr. 1187 stamps that show a range of errors shown in detail above.  Errors stamps on postally used cover are very rare. Two 2 Dong Total Liberation stamps on the reverse. Registered letter sent from Quan 5 (Ho Chi Minh City) to Klewitz in January of 1982. The letter carries a strip of three Reforestation stamps (Michel Nr. 1188). The left stamp shows the plate error “stone at HCM’s foot”. Errors stamps on postally used cover are very rare. Three 2 Dong Total Liberation stamps on the reverse. The overall postage amounted to 8.28 Dong.

Another very rare registered letter sent  from Hanoi to Klewitz in June of 1981. The letter carries the other half of the im-perforated set, some of the Total Liberation stamps plus two im-perforated Farm Animal stamps for an overall postage of 5.30 Dong. Im-perforated stamps on postally used cover are very rare.

Registered letter sent from Quan 5 (Cholon) to Klewitz in July of 1982. The letter carries one of the 2 Dong Nutritional Day stamps plus two of the 2 Dong Total Liberation stamps that sho a very significant shift of the yellow printing phase. The letter also carries the rare post master perforations 14 and 15 of the 12 xu Lotus stamp. Error stamps and Post Master Perforations on postally used cover are very rare.The total postage amounted to 11.6 Dong (including the rare red free frank for 2.3 Dong created by DA3.1. Pitney Bowes-GB “6300”).

Registered letter sent from Nguyen Trai to Klewitz in April of 1983. The letter carries the very rare 50 xu World Congress stamp without the addition imprint “xu” plus a range of printing errors and plate errors of th stamp. Error stamps on postally used cover are very rare. Three 2 Dong Total Liberation stamps on the reverse. The overall postage amounted to 17.4 Dong. Green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Registered letter sent from Nguyen Rai to Klewitz. The letter shows different varieties of the red HCM stamp. The top stamp shows the plate error of “blind right eye” and the bottom stamp significant passer-shifts. Many Total Liberation stamps on front and back. The overall postage amounted to 8.2 Dong (including the red free frank for 4.7 Dong). Green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Very large registered envelope that features the entire perforated Soccer set. There are also a pair of the 1974 Flower series im-perforated and the rarer Post Master Perforation (15) of the 12 xu Lotus stamp. Im-perfroated stamps and Post Master Perforations on postally used cover are very rare. On front there is pair of the 1976 military free frank in both color variations the stamp is known. Military free franks were not valid for international postage due to their lacking nominal value, however it appears that the postal clerk was not familiar with that rule. The overall postage amounted to 23.13 Dong (including the red free frank for 9 Dong). Green Fulda custom cachet on front.
