Mixed franking of the 15C World Exhibition in Paris stamps together with the 4C Kingdom Annam and 5C Air Mail stamps paying an overall postage of 39C on an international air mail letter sent from Qui Hon to France in September of 1939. Word War II was only four days old when this letter was sent and so it was censored by the French military as indicated by the circular censure cachet. Saigon transit cancels on the reverse.
Mixed franking of the 15C World Exhibition in Paris stamp together with the 37C Air Mail stamp paying an overall postage of 52C on a registered international air mail letter sent from Ninh Binh to France in March of 1939. Hanoi transit and Paris arrival cancel on the reverse.
Multiple franking of the 15C value (2) paying an overall postage of 30C on an international air mail letter sent from Hanoi to a military commander in Secteur Postal ISI. The 30th battalion formation was unknown at this location and so the letter received a rectangular black cachet ” Formation Inconnu” before it was returned to the sender. The letter was processed through BPM 121 as indicated by the black bar cachet on front. Saigon transit cancel from January of 1940.
Rare single franking of the souvenir-sheet sent on a registered letter from Saigon to England. Souvenir-sheets on postally used letters are very hard to find.
