Unified Vietnam, Children Aid, September 25th, 1990, Michel Nr. 2255-2262; The Vietnamese Postal Administration still had plenty of low nominal stamps like these on hand that were basically unusable since the standard domestic letter rate already amounted to 200D. So it decided to overprint the perforated Children Games stamps issued in 1970 (Michel Nr. 600-607) with “For the Future Generation” or its equivalent in eight different languages in order to repurpose the stamps for collector purposes. Since the overprinted stamps were sold after the last currency devaluation on September 14th, 1985 they were denominated in new Dong. The nominals of the Children Games set were not changed (12 xu, 20 xu, 30 xu, 40 xu, 50 xu and 60 xu) which made postal use in 1990 rather unlikely.
