Unified Vietnam, Ornamental Fish, January 15th, 1981, Michel Nr. 1145-1152; Eight stamps with the nominals of 12 xu (two stamps), 20 xu, 30 xu, 40 xu, 50 xu, 60 xu and 1 Dong were issued in perforation 12 and im-perforated.

Here is the mint im-perforated set in blocks of four:

Mixed franking of the 2D Communist Party stamp together with the 30 xu Fish and 1D Dragon Fly stamp paying an overall postage of 7.30D on this registered air mail letter sent from Hanoi to France in May of 1981.

Registered letter sent from Quan 5 (Cholon) to Klewitz in June of 1981. The letter carries half of the perforated Fish set plus some other NVN stamps for an overall postage of 8.04 Dong (including the red free rural for 5 Dong). The letter also carries a military free frank issued in 1970 that was not valid for international postage but it appears that the postal clerk accepted it for its domestic value of 12 xu.

Another registered letter sent from Quan 1 (Ho Chi Minh City) to Klewitz in June of 1981. The letter carries the other half of the perforated Fish set plus some other NVN stamps for an overall postage of 8.07 Dong.

Air mail letter sent from Nguyen Trai to Klewitz in March of 1982. The letter carries half of the im-perforated Fish set plus some other NVN stamps for an overall postage of 2.70 Dong. Im-perforated stamps on postally used cover are very rare.

Registered letter sent from Nguyen Trai to Klewitz in November of 1983. Th letter carries the very rare 50 xu World Congress stamp with the double “xu” imprint, a single 50 xu stamp that was printed on the unglued gum side and a 50 xu stamp with the plate error “for above X”. Errors stamps on postally used cover are very rare. Tropical Fish stamps on the reverse. The overall postage amounted to 9 Dong (including the red free frank for 5.4 Dong). Green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Registered letter sent from Quan 5 (Ho Chi Minh City) to Klewitz in October of 1983. The letter carries a block of four pf the red 30 xu value that shows a deficient red color printing run. Error stamps on postally used cover are very rare. There is also a military free frank that was issued in 1981. Military free franks were not valid for international postage. Ornamental Fish stamps on the reverse. The overall postage amounted to  29.68 Dong (including the red free frank DA3.1. Pitney Bowes-GB “6300” for 5.76 Dong). Green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Registered air mail letter sent from Nguyen Trai to Klewitz in February of 1984. The letter carries half of the perforated Chess set plus some Ornamental Fish stamps for an overall postage of 21.22D (including the red free frank for 4.42D). Green Fulda custom cachet on front.
