Registered air mail letter setoff rom Nguyen Trai in December of 1983 to Klewitz. The letter features two blocks of four of the 1D stamp in “light orange-red” base color that also show some of the plate errors featured above (“blue spot on elbow of wrestler”, “partial failure of the orange printing color” and “black dot in head of wrestler”). Plate errors on postally used cover are very rare. There are also stamps from the Harmful Insect set. The overall postage of the letter amounted to 16.80 (including the red free frank for 4D). The letter carries nine of the 50xu Union Congree set plus other contemporary NVN stamps for an overall postage of 67 Dong (including the red free frank for 38D). Some of the 50xu stamps carry the plate errors detailed above (white crack through building, blue mark in symbol, blue line above THU. Two of the Insect stamps on the reverse are imperforate. Registered air mail letter sent in April of 1985 from Quan 5 to Klewitz. the letter carries the 3D value of the Union Congress stamp with the plate error of “small cloud next to chimney”, stamps from the Vietnamese, Laos, Cambodian Friendship and Harmful Insect sets. The letter also carries stamps that were issued in 1958 and that were devalued by 1,000:1 on March 1st, 1959 and hence were only worth 40xu at the time of mailing. Registered air mail letter sent in November of 1984 from Ho Chi Minh City to Klwitz. The letter carries four of the yellow/black and double rose overprints. The yellow/black overprint shows a vertical double perforation strike in-between stamps and the double rose overprint different colors of the base stamps (light green and dark green). Error stamps on postally used cover are very rare. There are also stamps from the Union Congress and Harmful Insects sets for an overall postage of 52D. Registered air mail letter sent as mixed currency franking in April of 1985 from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The letter carries the Illiteracy Campaign set from 1958 which was devalued by 1,000:1 on March 1st, 1959 so worth only 1.2D. Together with the stamps from the Friendship, Harmful Insect and Union Conference sets the overall postage of the letter amounted to 53.89D (including the red free frank for 1.77D). The letter caries half of the perforated Stamp Exhibition set plus stamps from the HCM Birthday (Imperforate), Friendship Treaty , Harmful Insects (Imperforate), Peace Meeting and Union Congress sets. Imperforate stamps on postally used cover are very rare. All stamps on this cover were denominated still in old Dong. The Vietnamese Government conducted a devaluation of the Dong on September 14th, 1985. This meant that all stamps issued prior to this date were only worth one tenth at the time of mailing. The letter carries the perforated souvenir-sheets of the Argentina Stamp Exhibition (9.6×7.9 cm) and HCM Birthday, plus stamps from the HCM Birthday (Imperforate), Orchids, Harmful Insects, Peace Meeting and Hanoi Liberation sets. Souvenir-Sheets and imperforate stamps on postally used cover are very rare. All stamps on the cover are still denominated in old Dong. The Vietnamese Government conducted a devaluation of the Dong on September 14th, 1985. This meant that all stamps issued prior to this date were only worth one tenth at the time of mailing.
