Unified Vietnam, Flowers, November 20th, 1980, Michel Nr. 1137-1144; Eight stamps with the nominals of 12 xu (two stamps), 20 xu, 30 xu, 40 xu, 50 xu, 60 xu and 1 Dong were issued perforated 12.5 and im-perforated.

Here is a printing error on one of the 12xu stamps that shows a blueish-grey color that appears on top of three stamps.

Registered letter sent from Nguyen Rai to Klewitz in March of 1983. The letter features the World Congress stamps in multiple sets. The two 50 xu stamps to the right show variances. The middle tamp shows a shifted down “xu” imprint that is located in the lower inscription Tranh”. The right stamp is the very rare stamp on which the “xu” imprint was omitted . According to Klewitz only one sheet was ever found with this error so on cover this stamp is extremely rare. The complete Flower set on the reverse. The overall postage amounted to 14.86 Dong. Registered Letter sent from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz in July of 1981. The letter carries half of the perforated Flower set plus other NVN stamps for an overall postage of 7.93 Dong (including the red free frank of 4.5 Dong). Green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Air mail letter that carries the two 12 xu and 20 xu Flower values im-perforated and was mailed to Klewitz in October of 1981. There is also an im-perfroated 40 xu Farm Animal stamp on the reverse. Im-perforated stamps on postally used cover are very rare. The overall postage amounted to 2.92 Dong.

Air mail letter that carries the 12 xu, 60 xu and 1 Dong Flower values im-perforated and was mailed to Klewitz in October of 1981. There are also two im-perforated 50 xu Farm Animal stamp on the reverse. Im-perforated stamps on postally used cover are very rare. The overall postage amounted to 2.84 Dong.

There are also two im-perforated 60 xu Farm Animal stamp on the reverse. Im-perforated stamps on postally used cover are very rare. The overall postage amounted to 2.82 Dong.

Registered letter sent from Nguyen Trai in March of 1983 to Klewitz. The letter carries the different color shades of the 30 xu and 50 xu stamps. There are also two military free franks issued in 1981. Military free-franks were not valid for international postage due to their missing nominal value but nevertheless were accepted by the postal clerk.  Some Flower stamps on the reverse. The overall postage of the letter (including the free franks which were worth 12 xu each) amounted to 10.24 Dong (including the red free frank of 50 xu). Green Fulda custom cachet on the reverse.

Registered air mail letter sent from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz in March of 1983. The letter features the entire ASEAD set . The 30xu stamp is present in the two color variations and the right stamp also shows the plate error of “ball above tennis racket”. The left 2D stamp shows the plate error of “black smudge on head of elephant”. There are also a number of the Flower stamps on the reverse. The overall postage of the letter amounted to 13.94D. Green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Registered air mail letter sent in April of 1986 as a mixed currency franking from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The letter carries pairs of the New Year set and the 30xu Defense and Production stamp. These were still denominated in old Dong. On September 14th, 1985 the Vietnamese Government conducted a currency reform in which the Dong was devalued 10:1. This means the old stamps were only worth one tenth of their face value at the time of mailing (16.82D = 1.68nD). Together with the 10D Reconstruction stamps, the Le Loi stamps and the 15D red free frank the overall postage of the letter amounted to 39.68 nD. Fragment of green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Registered air mail letter sent on March 27th, 1989 as a mixed currency franking from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The letter carries the other half of the perforated Helikopters set and souvenir-sheet plus stamps from the Flower and Water Flower sets. The Flower and Water Flower stamps were still denominated in old Dong while all other stamps were already denominated in new Dong.  The Vietnamese Government conducted a devaluation of the Dong on September 14th, 1985. This meant that all stamps issued prior to this date were only worth one tenth at the time of mailing. The overall postage hence amounted to 4 oD = 0.40 nD. plus the stamps in new Dong (110 nD) plus the red free frank for 8,910 nD for 9,020.4nD.
