Unified Vietnam, Dahlias, July 15th, 1982, Michel Nr. 1240-1247; Eight stamps with the nominals of 30 xu (two stamps), 40 xu, 50 xu (two stamps), 60 xu and 1 Dong (two stamps) were issued in perforation 12:12.25 and imperforate.

International letter sent from Hanoi to Czechoslovakia in July of 1982 featuring the 1D Dahlia stamp plus the 60 xu Einstein stamp for an overall postage of 1.60D.

International air mail letter sent to East Germany featuring two of the 1D Dahlia stamps plus the 30 xu October Revolution stamp paying an overall postage of 2.30D.

Registered letter sent from Nguyen Trai to Klewitz in August of 1982. The letter carries half of the perforated Dahlia set. On the reverse are other NVN stamps including the rare Post Master Perforation of the Lotus stamp (Perf-14-15). Post Master Perforations on postally used cover are very rare. The overall postage of the letter amounted to 13.28 Dong. Green Fulda custom cachet on front.

The letter carries half of the im-perforated Dahlia set, perforated Dahlia stamps plus the rare color of the HCM Communist Party stamps for an overall postage of 5.2 Dong. Im-perforated stamps on postally used cover are very rare.

Very rare air mail letter sent from Nguyen Trai to Klewitz in February of 1982. The letter carries the other half of the im-perforated Dahlia set, perforated Dahlia stamps plus the rare color of the HCM Communist Party stamps (which also shows a double print of the red color) for an overall postage of 5.4 Dong. The letter carries the perforated souvenir sheet, stamps from Dahlia set and other contemporary NVN stamps for an overall postage of 16.68D (including the red free frank of 4.30D). Registered air mail letter sent from Ho Chi Minh City on May 19th, 1984 to Klewitz. This is eight days after Vietnam declared its boycott of the Summer Games so technically the stamps should have been invalid by then but clearly the postal clerk was not aware of that restriction. Due to their relatively short period of validity these stamps are extremely hard to find postally used. The editor has not seen any other postally used letters (other than the Klewitz letters featured below)  carrying these stamps. This letter carries the 30xu, 5D and 8D Olympic Games stamps and some of the Dahlia and Flowering Woods stamps for an overall postage of 52.40D (excluding the red free frank that is illegible). Registered air mail letter sent in July of 1984 from HO Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The letter carries the entire perforated Flowering Trees set, stamps from the Dahlia, Karl Marx and Raffael sets for an overall postage of 50.90D (the red free frank is illegible). Green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Registered air mail letter sent in December of 1984 from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The letter carries the entire perforated Dien Bien Phu stamp set plus the perforated souvenir-sheet in the light-blue-green color (2nd printing). There are also Lenin stamps, Vietnamese Painting and Orchid stamps plus two imperforate Dahlia stamps for an overall postage of 378.10D (including the red free frank for 297.6D). Fulda custom cachet on the reverse.

Registered air mail letter sent in August of 1985 from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The letter features the perforated Youth Festival set plus stamps from the Dahlia, Friendship, Lenin and Liberation of Hai Phong sets. There is also a pair of the rare 12xu Lotus stamp with post master perforation. The Dahlia stamps are imperforate. Post master perforations and imperforate stamps on postally used cover are very rare. The overall postage of the letter amounted to 218.24D (including the red free frank for 163D). Registered air mail letter sent in October of 1986 as a mixed currency franking from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The letter carries the World Cup souvenir-sheet plus stamps from the Dam Construction, Hanoi Liberation, Dahlias, Reconstruction, Traditional Houses and Fish sets. Souvenir-Sheets on postally mused cover are very rare. The Hanoi Liberation, Fish and Dahlia stamps were still denominated in old Dong while all the other stamps were denominated in new Dong. The Vietnamese Government conducted a devaluation of the Dong on September 14th, 1985. This meant that all stamps issued prior to this date were only worth one tenth at the time of mailing. The overall postage hence amounted to  22.4 oD =2.24 nD. plus the stamps in new Dong (33D)  for 35.24 nD. Green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Registered air mail letter sent in November of 1986 as a mixed currency franking from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The letter carries stamps that were still denominated in old Dong (Friendship, Dahlia (imperforate)) and new Dong (National Assembly, Halley (imperforate), Dam Building, Post Office, Traditional Houses).  Imperforate stamps on postally used cover are very rare. The Vietnamese Government conducted a devaluation of the Dong on September 14th, 1985. This meant that all stamps issued prior to this date were only worth one tenth at the time of mailing. The overall postage hence amounted to  2 oD =0.20 nD. plus the stamps in new Dong (23 nD) plus the red free frank for 10 nD for 33.2 nD. Fragment of green Fulda custom cachet on front.
