Unified Vietnam, Butterflies, July 30th, 1983, Michel Nr. 1353-1360; Eight stamps with nominals of 30xu (two stamps), 40xu (two stamps), 50xu (two stamps), 60xu and 1 Dong were issued in perforation 12 and imperforate.

Multiple franking of the 50xu value (2) paying an overall postage of 1D on a domestic letter sent from Quan 5 to HCM City.

Registered air mail letter sent from Nguyen Trai to Klewitz in February of 1984. The letter carries the four lower values of the perforated Butterflies set plus other contemporary NVN stamps including the two color versions of the 30xu Communist Party stamp) for an overall postage of 10.20D (including the red free frank for 5.00D). Green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Registered international air mail letter sent from HCM City to Klewitz in Germany in January of 1984. There is a red free frank on the reverse for 5.36D so the overall postage paid for the letter was 9.36D.

The letter carries the four higher values of the perforated Butterflies set plus other contemporary NVN stamps (including the two color versions of the 50xu World Food Day stamp) for an overall postage of 11.10D (including the red free frank for 4.90D). Green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Air mail letter sent from Quan 5 to Klewitz in May of 1984. The letter carries half of the imperforate Butterflies stamps plus other  NVN stamps for an overall postage of 27.40D. Imperforate stamps on postally used cover are very rare.
