Unified Vietnam, 1. Anniversary of the Election for the National Assembly, April 25th, 1977, Michel Nr. 906-909; Four stamps with the nominals of 4 xu, 5 xu, 12 xu and 50 xu were issued in perforation 11.0.
A perforation error is known on the 5 xu value. On this canceled stamp the top margin was left imperforate:
There are also lesser errors as can be seen on this mint pair of the 5xu value where the top stamp is taller than the bottom copy.
Here is a mint pair of the 5 xu value that shows missing perforation holes in the horizontal plain. This was caused by perforation teeth that were broken off.
Detailed scan of the affected area:
A printing/plate error known as the “vanishing leaf “ is known on the 12 xu value. Below is a strip of five that show incomplete lotus leafs on the three stamps to the right:
Here is a detailed scan of the “vanishing leaf” error:
This scan shows part of a block of six stamps that feature the green print on the back of the stamps. The top row was folded down to show the front of the stamps, hence hiding two stamps.
Rare printing error on which both the black and green print run is missing entirely:
This issue a also pretty prone to color offsets or so called “color kisses” on the back side of the stamps. Below are offsets of the gold and green color.
Rare printing error that misses the entire black print run leaving the disc in the background empty:
Here are two mint rows of the 50 xu stamp that shows a significant perforation shift upwards. Also, the perforation slants down towards the right side:
Interesting printing flaw on a strip of four of the 50 xu value. The top two values show a normal black printing run, while the bottom two values show a very light black printing run.
Kolwitz reported that the 50 xu stamp was issued in two distinct print runs. The second print run was released in June of 1982 as an increase in postage rates made the 50 xu nominal more critical. The second print can easily be identified by the darker yellow color that tends towards the yellow-ochre. Also the flag on the second printing is more lilac-red and not red. Bloks of four of the first printing (left side) and second printing (right side) below:
The top left stamp shows a printing flaw on the left side of the golden disc.
Here is a detailed scan of the printing flaw:
Another printing flaw in the top left of the red flag , this time on the bottom right stamp:
Another printing flaw, this time on the red flag of the right stamp:
