North Vietnam, Production and Struggle, December 15th, 1968, Michel Nr. 556-558; Four values in the nominals of 12 xu (two stamps), 30 xu and 40 xu were issued perforated 12.5. This set, unlike most other North Vietnamese stamps, was issued with gum.

Rare single franking of the 30xu value on a local letter sent from Ha Son Binh (small post office) to Ho Chi Minh City. Apparently the local letter rate had increased from 20xu to 30xu in the early 1980’s. Binh Thanh transit and Ho Chi Minh arrival cancels on the reverse.

Mixed franking of the 50 xu Pagoda stamp plus two 12 xu Production and Struggle stamps paying an overall postage of 74 xu on an international letter sent from Hai Phong to Switzerland in May of 1969. East Berlin transit cancel on the reverse.

Rare multiple franking of the 40 xu stamp on a postcard to Szeged in Hungary sent in October of 1975 paying 80xu

Air mail letter sent from Quang Ninh to Budapest, Hungary in July of 1978. The letter carries a mixed franking of 1.02D made up of one of the 50xu Total Liberation stamps, 12 xu Flower stamp and 40xu Production and Struggle stamp.

Here is a rare express mail letter sent to Klewitz in June of 1969. It features all four values of the set with identical corner selvage- It also shows an im-perforated block of four of the 12 xu flower series from 1962. Im-perforated stamps on postally used cover are very rare.  The overall postage amounted to 1.86 Dong which was in excess of the required postage for a standard express mail letter to West Germany (Tariff of 1.00). The initial plan was to send the letter registered (Tariff of 1.60 Dong).

Mixed franking of the 1xu and 2xu NLF stamps together with the 50xu Snake stamp and 40xu Production and Struggle stamp for an overall postage of 93xu on a Xunhasaba letter from Hanoi to France.

Mixed franking of the rarely used 6xu stamp together with a range of other NVN stamps (including the 40xu Production and Struggle stamp) for an overall postage of 1.88D on an air-mail letter sent from Hanoi to France in 1975.

Air mail letter sent in May of 1971 from Hanoi to East Germany carrying one of the 12 xu Production and Struggle plus one of the 40 xu 3,000 Aircraft shot-down stamps for an overall postage of 52xu.
