North Vietnam, Mechanization of Agriculture, May 25th, 1962, Michel Nr. 216; A single stamp with a 6 xu nominal was issued. The rate covered the reduced intra-city letter rate. Perforation is 11.0. 3,000,000 stamps were printed.

Here is there mint stamp.

Postally used stamp. Postally used stamps are at least ten times rare than cancelled to order stamps.

This is a very rare local local letter carrying a multiple franking of the mechanization stamp. The 12 xu was the correct tariff for a domestic letter from Tung-Then to Hanoi. Hanoi arrival cancel on the reverse.

Very rare single franking of the stamp on a postcard to East Germany. As of March 1st, 1960 the postal tariff to fellow socialist countries equalled that of the domestic postcard rate which amounted to 6xu. Most of these postcards were thrown out so very few of them survive.

Another rare single franking of the 6xu value on a postcard sent in October of 1962 to Czechoslovakia.

Here is a very colorful franking sent to Klewitz in October, 1981. It carries three of the 6 xu mechanization stamps and other North Vietnamese stamps for an overall postage of 2.06 Dong. The postage must be accurate as the postal clerk specifically added a printed free frank of 65 xu at the back of the letter. Please note that the 12 xu GANEFO Games value shows a double print of the grey/black color that can be seen as a shadow of the football player. Also the GANEFO Games value are printed on art paper. This can be seen by the fine contours and the slightly darker colors.  The GANEFO issue also exists on standard white paper and newsprint.

Here is a letter sent to Klewitz in June of 1962. It carries the one f the mechanization stamps plus some other North Vietnamese stamps for an overall ranking of 28 xu. That was actually insufficient as the standard letter rate to West Germany was actually 50 xu, however, the sender duped the postal clerk into thinking that the letter was actually addressed to East Germany (RDA stands for East Germany). To that destination the required rate was only 12 xu. So in the eyes of the clerk the letter was actually overfranked.

Rare registered express mail letter sent to Klewitz in August of 1978. The letter carries the other half of the perforated set plus two of the Mechanization stamps for an overall postage of 4.00 Dong. Fulda arrival cancel on the reverse. Green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Rare registered express mail letter mailed from Hai Phong to Klewitz in June of 1979. It carries the Cuba set in pairs plus one of the Mechanization stamps for an overall postage of 5.04 Dong. Bad Nauheim transit and Fulda arrival cancel on the reverse. Green Fulda custom cachet on front.
