North Vietnam, For Military Personell 1968, November 10th, 1968, Michel Nr. M14; A single stamp depicting two soldiers with artillery ammunition was produced by the Tien Bo Printing House in sheets of 100 stamps and in perforation 11.0. The stamp carries the inscription Tem Quan Doi (= Army Stamp).

Here is the mint stamp from the bottom left part of the sheet.

This stamp was not officially released imperforate however a very small number of imperforate trial proofs have come to market. Here is one of them.

Here are very rare hand-painted essays affixed to a white carton produced by the stamp’s designer Tran Huy Khanh. These designs were presented to postal authorities that ultimately selected a version of the left essay in the color of the middle essay. The carton is signed by the designer. Unique item.

This stamp is surprisingly hard to find on postally used cover. One cover with a damaged stamp is all the editor could locate so far. It is not clear why the should be the case. This letter was sent from Hanoi in December of 1970 and was addressed to Vinh Phu. Hanoi machine cancel.
