Here is a very rare express mail letter sent Klewitz in December of 1973. It features the entire im-perforated set. Imperforate stamps on postally used cover are very rare. Rare local letter from Nam Quan to Cao Lang sent in July of 1977. The 12 xu stamp was the correct franking at that time. The stamp was cancelled with a cancel that appears to be saved from the 1960’s by exchanging the “6” in the cancel for a “7” that looks different from the original “7” used in the cancel. This is an example of how redundant items were re-used for better efficiency.

Rare multiple franking of the 20xu value on an air-mail letter sent from Nam Dinh to Vientiane, Laos in July of 1977. The postage to Cambodia and Laos went up from 40xu to 50 xu on December 1st, 1976, so this letters actually still used the old tariff. However this apparently was not noticed by the mail clerk as no postage due remarks were made on the cover.

Rare single franking of the 50xu stamp paying the correct postage for an air mail letter sent to Vientiane, Laos in July of 1977.

Rare multiple franking of the 1 Dong value from the bird set sent by the General Postal and Telecommunication Authority to Klewitz in January of 1980. The overall postage amounted to 4 Dong.

While a standard 20 gram air mail letter had only cost 50 xu to Western countries the charge increased to 1.00 Dong (Post Cards increased from 46 xu to 60 xu). The letter features on overall postage of 1.64 which appears to be close to the required tariff. Fulda arrival cancel on the reverse.
