Rare express mail letter sent to Klewitz in June of 1971 featuring the entire set. The overall postage of the letter amounted to 1.68 Dong which was a tad above the required tariff for a standard 20 gram registered express mail letter of 1.60 Dong.
Rare local letter featuring a single franking of the 12 xu Ho Chi Minh stamp of the set. 12 xu was the correct domestic standard letter rate.
Rare local letter with a weak machine cancel mailed to a military unit in Tu Liem. Tu-Liem arrival cancel on the reverse. Most local letters were destroyed in the multi-decadal war, destroyed by the tropical climate or by recycling due to raw material shortages.
Rare single franking of the 1 Dong value of the set on an air mail letter sent to East Germany in June of 1975. The international letter tariff to Western countries amounted to 1 Dong as of January 1st, 1975 but that to Western countries (like East Germany) was only 60xu bu it appears the sender was unaware of that fact.
Rare express mail letter featuring three of the stamps from the set and sent to Klewitz in July of 1971. The overall postage of the letter amounted to 1.62 Dong which was tad above the required tariff of 1.60 Dong for a standard registered express mail letter to West Germany. Transit and Arrival cancels on the reverse.
