North Vietnam, Antique Bronze Drums Ngoc-Lu-Bron, April 12th, 1973, Michel Nr. 726-730; Five stamps all with a 12 xu nominal were issued in perforation 11.0.

Here is the mint set:

All the stamps were printed together in a single sheet (10 stamps per vertical row and all five stamps in a single sheet of 100 stamps) which caused that some stamps with a different motive were printed attached to each other. Below are three rows from a sheet that shows the arrangement. Please note that the two pieces appearing below are still attached to each other. They were simply folded to allow for better scanning. Also the editors collection contains a complete mint sheet of 100 stamps (5 x 20 stamps).

Left piece:

Right piece:

The large piece also shows a small perforation error. Since the perforation comb that was used to make the vertical perforations was missing a few teeth, a small area of the stamps in this row has an im-perfroated area. Here is a zoom image of one of the areas but the error permeates the entire row of ten stamps.

On some sheets there are also empty perforated fields that show no image at all. Here are two blocks of four with an additional but empty block of four that is attached:

Here are some rare trial proofs of the set on which the entire yellow color run is missing.

Rare express mail letter from September of 1973 featuring the set twice (ex Klewitz). The overall postage amounted to 1.98 which appears to be excessive for a standard 20 gram express mail letter to West Germany (Tariff 1.00 Dong). Some stamps from the snake set and Hannover and Fulda arrival cancels on the reverse.

Rare express mail letter from September of 1973 mailed to Klewitz and featuring all three possible attached stamp options. The overall franking of that letter was 1.70 which would have been close to the required tariff for a standard registered express mail letter to West Germany (Tariff 1.60 Dong) however, in the end the letter was not sent registered which lowered the postage to 1.00 Dong. Stamps from the banana set and Hannover and Fulda arrival cancels on the reverse.

Very rare express mail letter sent to Klewitz in October of 1976. The letter carries half of the im-perforated tropical fish  plus stamps from the Bronze set for an overall postage of 2.26 Dong. Imperforate stamps on postally used cover are very rare. Fulda arrival cancel on the reverse.

Another very rare express mail letter sent to Klewitz in October of 1976. The letter carries the other half of the im-perforated tropical fish  plus some of the Bronze set stamps for an overall postage of 2.42 Dong. Imperforate stamps on postally used cover are very rare. Fulda arrival cancel on the reverse.
