2. Anniversary of the Convening of the International Court of Justice

North Vietnam, 2. Anniversary of the Convening of the International Court of Justice, November 20th, 1969, Michel Nr. 594; The fairly newly established International Court of Justice was the principal judicial organ of the United Nations the was created to adjudicate disagreements between member states. A single stamp with a 12 xu nominal and perforated 11.0 was issued.

This stamp was not officially released imperforate however, a very small number of imperforate trial proofs have come to market. Here is one of them.

Mixed franking featuring both stamps of the Aircraft Shot Down set. together with a range of other NVN stamps (including the 12xu International Court of Justice stamp) for an overall postage of 60xu (the tariff that was introduced on January 1st, 1975 as international postage to all Eastern countries). The letter originated from the Public Affairs Department of the Central Post Office to the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications of East Germany in Berlin.

Very rare registered express mail letter sent to Klewitz in April of 1970. Apart from a pair of the Court of Justice stamp the letter also features a block of four of the im-perforated 12 xu stamp of the Folk Dance series plus a single of the im-perforated 50 xu stamp of the same set. Im-perforated stamps on postally used cover are very rare. The overall franking amounted to 1.70 Dong which was slightly above the required tariff of 1.60 Dong.

Rare express mail letter mailed to Klewitz in March of 1976 carrying one of the 50 xu stamps plus various im-perfroated issues of previous series and the 12 xu international court of justice stamp. Im-perforated stamps on postally used cover are very rare. The overall franking amounted to 2.88 Dong which appears to be in excess of the required postage for a standard express mail letter to West Germany (Tariff of 1.00 Dong).

Air mail letter sent in April of 1970 from Hanoi to East Germany carrying one of the 12xu International Court plus one 40xu of the 3,000 Aircraft shot-down stamps for an overall postage of 52 xu.
