North Vietnam, Domestic Birds, October 31st, 1966, Michel Nr. 456-461; Six stamps in the nominals of 12 xu (four stamps), 20 xu and 30 xu were issued perforated 12:5-11.75 and imperforate.

Here is a rare express mail letter sent to Klewitz in September of 1967 featuring the entire im-perforated bird set. Im-perforated stamps on postally used cover are very rare. The overall franking amounts to 1.12 Dong which is slightly above the required tariff of 1.00 Dog (50 xu standard letter rate, 50 xu express mail fee). Fulda arrival cancel on the reverse. The letter took nine days to be transmitted..

Mixed franking of the 12xu Morrison stamp together with the 6xu Downed Aircraft stamp and the 12xu Birds stamp for a total postage of 30xu on a letter to West Germany. The required tariff to Western countries was 50xu fora standard 20g letter so this one is actually under-franked. Nevertheless, no postage due remarks were added.

Mixed franking of the 50xu Engels stamp together with two of the Domestic Birds stamps for an overall postage of 74xu mailed to Paris, France.

Rare registered express mail letter sent to Klewitz in November of 1971. It features one of the 30 xu stamps. The overall postage amounted to 1.72 Dong which is in excess of the required tariff for a standard 20 gram registered express mail letter to West Germany, so the letter may have been heavier than the standard.

Very rare registered express mail letter mailed to Klewitz featuring the set with matching corner selvage. The letter also bears the 30 xu im-perforated domestic bird set from 1966. Im-perforated stamps on postally used cover are very rare. The overall postage of 1.66 Dong was just a tad above the required tariff for a standard 20 gram registered express mail letter to West Germany.

Rare registered express mail cover sent to Klewitz in November of 1971 featuring the entire set. The letter also carries an im-perforated 20 xu value of the domestic birds series. Im-perforated stamps on postally used cover are very rare. Th over-all postage amounted to 1.44 Dong which appears to be 6 xu shy of the correct postage of 1.60 Dong.

Very rare registered express mail letter sent to Klewitz in May of 1975. The letter features one of the 12 xu values of the set plus a number of the im-perforated chicken set from 1968. Im-perforated stamps on postally used cover are very rare. The overall postage amounted to 2.60 Dong which was higher than the standard 20 gram registered express mail letter to West Germany (Tariff of 2.10) but the letter may have been heavier than the standard.
