Chess

Unified Vietnam, Chess, August 20th, 1991, Michel Nr. 2366-2372, Block 91; Six stamps with nominals of 200D, 300D, 1,000D, 2,000D and 3,000D (two stamps) were issued in perforation 13 and imperforate. There was also a souvenir-sheet with a 5,000D nominal that was produced perforated 12.75:13.25 and imperforate.

Rare registered local letter featuring a mixed franking of two 300D INDIA 89 plus one 200D Chess stamp paying an overall postage of 800D. The letter was sent in February of 1992 from Nam Ninh to HCM City. HCM City arrival cancel on the reverse.

The letter carries the Research Center stamp plus stamps from the Chess (souvenir-sheet) and International Space Year (imperforate) sets for an overall postage of 19,200D. Souvenir-Sheets and imperforate stamps on postally used cover are very rare.

Registered air mail letter sent in February of 1992 from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The letter carries perforated and imperforate Golden Heart stamps plus stamps from the Communist Party, Chess, Women Traditional Clothing and the rare withdrawn Chu Van An stamp for an overall postage of 21,000 (including the red free frank for 300D). Postally used Chu Van An stamps used around the issuance date are not easy to find.

International air mail letter sent with a mixed franking of eight 2,000D Olympic Games and fourteen 1,000D Chess stamps paying an overall postage of 32,800D (including the red free frank for 2,800D) from HCM City to Bermuda in 2003

Mixed franking of two of the 400D Flower stamps plus the 3,000D Chess stamp paying an overall postage of 3,800 on this very rare local express mail letter sent from Quang Tri to HCM City in January of 1997. Various transit cancels on the reverse. The use of local express mail was very limited and hence such covers are hard to find.
