United Vietnam, INDIA Stamp Exhibition New-Delhi I Butterflies, January 17th, 1989, Michel Nr. 1991-1998, Block 67; Seven stamps in nominals of 50D (three stamps), 100D (two stamps), 200D and 300D were issued in perforation 12.5:12.25 and imperforate. There was also a souvenir-sheet with a 400D nominal that was only issued perforated 12.5. There is a question on the actual issuance date of this set as Klewitz reports it to be January 20th and First Day Covers with that date do exist. The stamps were printed each with an attached decorative field that shows the butterflies cocoon shape.
Stamps sold at Vietnamese post offices were without gum while stamps sold by the official Vietnamese stamp agency were gummed.

A color variation is known on the 100D (Phoebis Avellaneda). The base color of this variation is red-brown (left canceled pair) instead of the light-brown of the normal stamp (right imperforate stamp).
