Unified Vietnam, Locomotives, December 30th, 1988, Michel Nr. 1966-1973, Block 65; Seven stamps in nominals of 20D (four stamps), 30D (two stamps) and 50D were issued in perforation 13:12.75 and imperforate. Klewitz reports a September 27th, 1988 issuance date and there is a postally used letter from December 13th, 1988 (see below) that carries stamps from the set so the Michel date of December 30th may not be correct. According to Michel there are First Day Covers with a cancel dated October 10th, 1988 so the actual issuance date is not clear yet.
Stamps sold at Vietnamese post offices had no gum but stamps sold by the official Vietnamese stamp agency were gummed.
