Registered air mail letter sent from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz in May of 1984. The letter carries two perforated sets of the World Food Day series from 1983 and one from 1982 plus other contemporary NVN stamps for an overall postage of 45.80D. Green Fulda custom cachet on the reverse.

Registered air mail letter sent from Quan 5 to Klewitz in October of 1984. The letter carries the perforated and imperforate World Food Day set plus the perforated World Food Day set from 1982 and other contemporary NVN stamps for an overall postage of 51.80D. Imperforate stamps on postally used cover are very rare. Partial green Fulda custom cachet in front.

Registered air mail letter sent in July of 1985 from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The letter carries eight of the 50xu Union Congress stamps. The left block of four shows a horizontal double perforation and the plate error of “girl with blue nose”. The right block of four is of the light-blue color variety. The Bird of Prey stamps on the reverse are imperforate. Error and imperforate stamps on postally used cover are very rare. World Food Day stamps on the back. The overall postage of the letter amounted to 229.6D (including the red free frank for 186.6D).

Air mail letter mailed in October of 1984 from Quan 5 to Klewitz and featuring the other half of the imperforate Flowering Trees set plus stamps from the Ciconiiformes and World Food Day sets for an overall postage of 28D. Imperforate stamps on postally used over are very rare.

Registered air mail letter sent in July of 1985 from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The letter carries the imperforate souvenir-sheet and the complete perforated Dien Bien Phu, Bulgaria and Vietnamese Painters set for an overall postage of 373.60D. Green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Registered air mail letter that carries the rare se-tenant strips of the 1D and 2D and 5D and 3D values that came from the large sheets that were only available in the printing works. The letter also carries the rare Post Master Perforation of the 12xu Lotus stamp as well as stamps for the World Food Day and Winter Olympics. Errors stamps on postally used cover are very rare. Registered air mail letter sent in June of 1985 as a mixed currency franking from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The letter carries pairs of the New Year set plus stamps from the World Food Day, Friendship, Lenin, Peace Meeting and Provisional Overprint sets. There are also two stamps issued in 1959 that were devalued by 1,000:1 on March 1st, 1959 and hence were only worth 30xu at the time of mailing. Hence the overall postage of the letter amounted to 391.3D (including the red free frank for 330D). Fragment of the green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Registered air mail letter sent in November of 1985 from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The carries a block of four of the Communist Party value on which the lower left stamp shows the plate error “broken VIETNAM”. Error stamps on postally used cover are very rare. The letter also carries the rare 6xu Flower stamp from 1974 plus stamps from the World Communication Year, Friendship Contract and Union Congress stamps for an overall postage of 216.68 old Dong. The military free frank from 1981 was technically not valid for international mail as it lacked any displayed nominal value but apparently was accepted by the postal clerk. The Vietnamese Government conducted a currency reform on September 14th, 1985 by which the Dong was devalued by 10:1. This meant that all the stamps on this cover were only worth one tenth of their face value at the time of mailing (=21.66 nD). Together with the red free frank of 1.3 nD the overall postage of the letter amounted to 22.96nD. Fragment of the green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Registered air mail letter sent in December of 1985 from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The letter carries the Sport Games set plus stamps from the Asia Games (both color variations), Year of the Child, Vietnamese Laos Friendship, World Food Day, Communist Party, Peace Meeting and Provisional Overprint  sets for an overall postage of 140D (including the red free frank for 10D).
