Unified Vietnam, World Communication Year, September 30th, 1983, Michel Nr. 1362-1366, Block 23; Four stamps and one souvenir-sheet in the nominals of 50xu, 2D, 8D, 10D and 10D were issued in perforation 12.5 and imperforate.

Here is a cancelled to order 50 xu value which shows a perforation error on the right side of the stamp (perforation shifted into stamp image).

Registered air mail letter sent from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz in November of 1984. The letter carries the imperforate souvenir-sheet, some Flat Fish and overprinted stamps for an overall postage of 48.60 (including the red free frank for 10xu). Souvenir-sheets, especially if the are imperforate, are very rare on postally used cover.

Registered air mail letter sent from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz in July of 1984. The letter carries the perforated souvenir-sheet and the entire Communication Year set, some Soccer stamps for an overall postage of 42.40 (including the red free frank for 40xu). Souvenir-sheets are very rare on postally used cover. Green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Air mail letter sent from Quan 5 to Klewitz in November of 1984. The letter carries the entire imperforate Communication Year set and one imperfroate Soccer set stamp plus perforated Soccer stamps for an overall postage of 30.90D. Imperfroate stamps on postally used cove are very rare.

Registered air mail letter sent in December of 1986 as a mixed currency franking from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The letter caries the light colored version of the  Bronze Vessel souvenir-sheet plus stamps from the Reconstruction, Thälmann, Communist Party, Hanoi Liberation and Friendship sets. The Communist Party stamps are in the rare perforation of 12.5. Souvenir-Sheets on postally used cover are very rare. The Hanoi Liberation, Friendship stamps and the World Communication Year souvenir-sheet were still denominated in old Dong. The Vietnamese Government conducted a devaluation of the Dong on September 14th, 1985. This meant that all stamps issued prior to this date were only worth one tenth at the time of mailing. The overall postage hence amounted to  14 oD =1.40 nD. plus the stamps in new Dong (78 nD) plus the red free frank for 340 nD for 419.4 nD. Green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Late usage of the imperforate 10D souvenir-sheet on a mixed franking sent in February of 2016 from Ban Co to the United States. The letter also carries the Monkey New Year stamps (6) plus a red free frank for 48,000D for an overall postage of 111,010D. Souvenir-sheets on postally used cover are still rarely used.
