Unified Vietnam, Traditional Rice Planting, October 28th, 1989, Michel Nr. 2105-2109; Five stamps with nominals of 50D, 100D (two stamps), 200D and 300D were issued in perforation 12:12.5 and imperforate. There are questions about the actual issuance date of this set. Klewitz reports it to be September 14th, 1989 and Michel indicates that there are First Day Covers with that date.

The letter carries the entire perforated Rice Planting set plus stamps from the Cosmonautics (souvenir-sheets perforated and imperforate), Off-shore Oil Production and Hydro Stations for an overall postage of 17,930D (including the red free frank for 17,930D). Souvenir-Sheets on postally used cover are very rare.

Imperforate stamps on postally used cover are very rare. The postal clerk in Vietnam failed to cancel the two top left stamps on front of the cover which prompted the postal clerk in West Germany to apply the Fulda cancel “Nachtraeglich Entwertet” (=Subsequently cancelled).
