Single franking of the 1D Year of Peace stamp on a local letter sent within HCM City in February of 1988. New type of machine cancel.

Mixed franking of the 30D value (8-all small star) together with eight of the Year of Peace stamps paying an overall postage of 248D on an international air mail letters ent from Hanoi to France.

Registered air mail letter sent in January of 1987 as a mixed currency franking from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The letter carries perforated stamps from the Labor Day, Bronze Vessels, Vietnamese Post, Traditional Houses, Protected Animals and HCM Birthday sets. Apart from the Protected Animals and HCM Birthday stamps all other stamps were already denominated in new Dong.  The Vietnamese Government conducted a devaluation of the Dong on September 14th, 1985. This meant that all stamps issued prior to this date were only worth one tenth at the time of mailing. The overall postage hence amounted to  7.00 oD =0.70 nD. plus the stamps in new Dong (32 nD) plus the red free frank for 189 nD for 221.7 nD. Fragment of the green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Registered air mail letter sent in July of 1987 as a mixed currency franking from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The letter carries perforated stamps from the Year of Peace, Birds, Labor Day, National Assembly, Communist Party sets and the souvenir-sheet from the Post Congress Hamburg set. Souvenir-Sheets on postally used cover are very rare. Apart from the Post Congress Hamburg souvenir-sheet all other stamps were already denominated in new Dong.  The Vietnamese Government conducted a devaluation of the Dong on September 14th, 1985. This meant that all stamps issued prior to this date were only worth one tenth at the time of mailing. The overall postage hence amounted to  10.00 oD =1 nD. plus the stamps in new Dong (44 nD) plus the red free frank for 319 nD for 364 nD. Fragment of the green Fulda custom cachet on front.

The letter carries stamps from the Year of Peace, Year of the Cat, 5 Billion People and Elephant sets for an overall postage of 569D (including the red free frank for 539). Registered air mail letter sent in November of 1987 from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The letter carries stamps from the Year of Peace, Butterflies, Humane Living and Soviet-Vietnamese Friendship sets for an overall postage of 535.50D (including the red free frank for 498).

Registered air mail letter sent in September of 1987 as a mixed currency franking from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The letter the entire perforated Butterflies set plus stamps from the Prehistoric Animals, Postal Union, Year of Peace, HCM Birthday (imperforate souvenir-sheet) and Manned Space Flight (souvenir-sheet) sets.  Imperforate stamps or souvenir-sheets on postally used cover are very rare. The Prehistoric Animals and HCM Birthday stamps were still denominated in old Dong while all other stamps were already denominated in new Dong.  The Vietnamese Government conducted a devaluation of the Dong on September 14th, 1985. This meant that all stamps issued prior to this date were only worth one tenth at the time of mailing. The letter carries the other half of the perforated Space Flight set and souvenir-sheet plus stamps from the Prehistoric Animals (imperforate) and Year of Peace sets. Imperforate stamps and souvenir-sheets on postally used cover are very rare. The Prehistoric Animal were still denominated in old Dong while all other stamps were denominated in new Dong.  The Vietnamese Government conducted a devaluation of the Dong on September 14th, 1985. This meant that all stamps issued prior to this date were only worth one tenth at the time of mailing. The overall postage hence amounted to  16.5 oD =1.65 nD. plus the stamps in new Dong (23D) and the red free frank of 546D for 570.65 nD.

The letter carries two perforated and one imperforate Water and Mountain Spirits sets plus stamps from the Communist Party (front 5D and all stamps on the reverse Perf. 12.5), Year of Peace, Butterflies and Postal Union sets for an overall postage of 1,301D (including the red free frank for 1167). The letter carries pairs of the Soviet-Vietnamese Friendship Treaty stamps plus stamps from the KPdSU (imperforate), Year of Peace, Humane Living and Traditional Minorities Dresses sets for an overall postage of 1,222.5D (including the red free frank for 1,015D). Imperforate stamps on postally used cover are very rare. Green Fulda custom cachet on front.
