This stamp was not officially released im-perforated however a small number of imperforate trial proofs have come to market. Here is a pair of them:

There is also a printing error known on the issued stamp. Here the entire red printing run is missing:

Single franking of the stamp sent from Cambodian border zone to HCM City in November of 1978. The cover was mailed from the forward Headquarters Loc Ninh, Song Be Province located on the border. It was then carried in a bulk shipment to HCM City. HT 7A (main HQ in HCM City) served troops fighting on the Cambodian border at the start of the conflict.

Rare registered express mail letter sent to Klewitz in August of 1978. It carries a pair of the stamps plus a range of other contemporary NVN stamps for an overall postage of 4.40 Dong. Mixed franking of the 10xu Day of the Child stamp together with a number of other NVN stamps (including two of the International Children’s Day stamps) paying an overall postage of 3.38D on a registered express mail letter sent from Ho Chi Minh City to Marseille, France in July of 1978.

Rare registered express mail letter sent to Klewitz in July of 1978. It carries a block of four of the Children stamps plus other contemporary NVN stamps. The letter was sent from Bac Ninh but interestingly enough the R-Label was only attached in Bac-Giang. The letter was opened un-professionally during transit (as pointed out by Klewitz) which may have been a censorship move but no censor marking were indicated. Very rare air mail letter sent in August of 1979 from Ho Chi Minh City to Hong Kong. The letter carries the Children error stamp without the red printing run. Error stamps on postally used cover are very rare. The overall postage amounted to 1.68 Dong.

Another very rare air mail letter mailed from Ho Chi Minh City to Hong Kong in July of 1978. The letter carries the Children error stamp without the yellow/mustard printing run. Errors stamps on postally used cover are very rare. The overall postage amounted to 1.60 Dong.

Very rare air mail letter sent from Ho Chi Minh City to Hong Kong in October of 1978. It carries a pair of the Children stamps that is im-perforated inbetween the stamps. Error stamps on postally used cover are very rare. The overall postage amounted to 1.30 Dong.

Another very rare registered express mail letter sent to Klewitz in September of 1978. The letter caries the other half of the im-perforated Sport Games set and the Children Day stamp. Im-perforated stamps on postally used cover are very rare. The overall postage amounted to 3.56 Dong. Fulda arrival cancel on the reverse.

Registered letter sent from Quan 5 (Cholon) to Klewitz in September of 1981. The letter carries a mass-franking of the 5 xu Day of the Child stamp plus other NVN stamps for an overall postage of 8.26 Dong (including the red free frank for 2.7 Dong). There is also one International Child Day stamp from 1978 that shows a significant passer-shift of the violet color towards the bottom. Errors stamps on postally used cover are very rare. Registered letter sent from Nguyen Trai to Klewitz in April of 1982. The letter carries three of the 2 Dong Nutrition Day stamps with the top left stamp showing the plate error “half-moon in emblem”. Plate errors on postally used cover are very rare. Day the Child stamp on the reverse. The overall postage amounted to 8.29 Dong. Green Fulda custom cachet on front.
