Unified Vietnam, Cooperation between Vietnam and CSSR, October 31st, 1987, Michel Nr. 1844-1845; Two stamps in nominals of 10D and 50D were issued in perforation 13.

Here is the mint set. The 50D stamp is know in light-ochre and dark-ochre color as shown below.

These stamps were not officially released imperforate, however some imperforate trial proofs have come to market. Below are two imperforate blocks of four. The 10D value shows the plate error of “very faint small passer-cross on the right dove” (blue on top left and yellow on top right stamp).

Registered air mail letter sent in April of 1881 from HCM City to Hong Kong. The letter carries the Postal Union, Cooperation between Vietnam & CSSR, Paracel & Spratly sets plus stamps from the German Railway souvenir-sheet and the Peace Movement stamp paying an overall postage of 2,865D (including the red free frank for 2,565D). Souvenir-sheets on postally used cover are very rare.

Registered air mail letter sent in December of 1987 from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The letter carries pairs of the Cooperation between Vietnam and CSSR set plus stamps from the 5 Billion Humans, Traditional Minority Clothing, Water and Mountain Spirit and Humae Living sets  for an overall postage of 1,243D (including the red free frank for 1,031D). Green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Registered air mail letter sent in February  of 1988 from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The letter carries the perforated and imperforate stamps of the Cooperation between Vietnam and CSSR set plus stamps from the Old Ships, Insects and Water and Mountain Spirit sets  for an overall postage of 1,221D (including the red free frank for 1,076D). Green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Registered air mail letter sent in November of 1987 from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The letter carries the October Revolution souvenir-sheet plus stamps from the National Assembly, Communist Party, Water and Mountain Spirit, Butterflies, Humane Living and Vietnamese-Soviet Peace Agreement sets for an overall postage of 569D (including the red free frank for 383D). The 4D Communist Party stamp is in the rare perforation 11:12.5.  Souvenir-sheets on postally used cover are very rare. Fragment of the green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Registered air mail letter sent in April of 1988 from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The letter carries the entire perforated Rose set plus the souvenir-sheet plus stamps from the Elephants and Vietnam-CSSR Cooperation (imperforate) for an overall postage of 1,547 (including the red free frank for 1,284D). Souvenir-Sheets and imperforate stamps on postally used cover are very rare. Fragment of the green Fulda custom cachet.

Registered air mail letter sent in March of 1988 from Ho Chi Minh Ciyt to Klewitz. The letter carries most of the perforated Roses set plus stamps from the Vietnam-CSSR Cooperation (imperforate) and Cham Culture sets for an overall postage of 1,297D (including the red free frank for 951D). Imperforate stamps on postally used cover are very rare. Fragment of the green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Registered air mail letter sent in March of 1988 as a mixed currency franking from Ho Chi Minh Ciyt to Klewitz. The letter carries one perforated Rose stamp and  the souvenir-sheet plus stamps from the Vietnam-CSSR Cooperation (imperforate), October Revolution, Cacti, Soccer World Cup and Motor Cycles sets. The Motor Cycle stamps were still denominated in old Dong while all other stamps were already denominated in new Dong.  Souvenir-Sheets and imperforate stamps on postally used cover are very rare. The Vietnamese Government conducted a devaluation of the Dong on September 14th, 1985. This meant that all stamps issued prior to this date were only worth one tenth at the time of mailing. The overall postage hence amounted to  7 oD =0.70 nD. plus the stamps in new Dong (233 nD) plus the red free frank for 1,137 nD for 1,370,7 nD. Fragment of the green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Registered air mail letter sent in December of 1987 as a mixed currency franking from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The letter carries half of the perforated Motorcycles set plus stamps from the Ha Long (imperforate), Prehistoric Animals and Animals and Plants sets that were still denominated in old Dong. The Vietnamese Government conducted a devaluation of the Dong on September 14th, 1985. This meant that all stamps issued prior to this date were only worth one tenth at the time of mailing. The overall postage hence amounted to 26 oD = 2.6 nD. plus the red free frank for 113.1 nD plus stamps in new Dong 90 nD for a total of 205.7 nD. Fragment of the green Fulda custom cachet on front. There is a Montreal transit cancel on the reverse. The letter must have been routed through Canada by mistake.

Registered air mail letter sent in May of 1996 from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The letter carries the entire perforated Prehistoric Animal set plus stamps from the Traditional Bridge Building and Cooperation with the CSSR sets for an overall postage of 28,760D. Fulda arrival cancel on the reverse.
