This stamp was not officially released imperforate however some imperforate trial proofs have come to market. Below is a pair of these.

In a partial printing of the stamp and unprinted white field in stamp size can be seen on the right side of the sheet. It is not clear if this was the result of a too large sheet of paper or if the stamp cliche’s on the right were removed.

Single franking of the 60D stamp on a local letter sent from Quan 10 to HCM City in March of 1989. The 60D postage paid was apparently not sufficient as the letter received a red “T” stamp (postage due). Apparently the correct tariff was 100D which meant that the recipient had to pay a penalty of two times 40D or 80D.

Registered air mail letter sent in July of 1988 from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The letter carries the perforated and imperforate Child Inoculation stamps plus stamps from the Fish (some imperforate) and HAFNIA Airplanes (some imperforate) sets for an overall postage of 1,585D (including the red free frank for 1,270D). Registered express air mail letter sent in July of 1988 as a mixed currency franking from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The letter carries a block of four of the Child Inoculation stamps plus stamps from the Protected Animals, Off-shore Oil Production (imperforate), Poultry and Elephants sets.  Imperforate stamps on postally used cover are very rare.  The Protected Animal stamps were still denominated in old Dong while all other stamps were already denominated in new Dong.  The Vietnamese Government conducted a devaluation of the Dong on September 14th, 1985. This meant that all stamps issued prior to this date were only worth one tenth at the time of mailing. The overall postage hence amounted to  3.5 oD = 0.35 nD. plus the stamps in new Dong (1,256 nD)  and the red free frank for 1,170D for 2,426.35 nD. Registered air mail letter sent in March of 1989 as a mixed currency franking from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The letter carries the perforated  stamps from the Locomotives set plus stamps from the Child Immunization, Cooperation with USSSR, Interior Ministry Troops, Ton Du’c Thang, Hydro Stations and USSR Peace Treaty sets. There is also the military free frank issued in 1986. The Cooperation with USSR stamps are present in both color variations. The Cooperation with USSR and Interior Ministry Troop stamps were still denominated in old Dong while all other stamps were already denominated in new Dong.  The Vietnamese Government conducted a devaluation of the Dong on September 14th, 1985. This meant that all stamps issued prior to this date were only worth one tenth at the time of mailing. The overall postage hence amounted to 36 oD = 3.6 nD. plus the stamps in new Dong (2,641 nD) plus the red free frank for 3,960 nD for 6,604.6nD. Fragment of the green Fulda custom cachet on front.

The letter carries the other half of the perforated Helikopters set and perforated souvenir-sheet plus stamps from the USSR Friendship Treaty, Re Cross (imperforate), Mutual Economic Aid, Child Inoculation, Cambodian National Day, INDIA Stamp Exhibition and Tourism sets for an overall postage of 6,280D (including the red free frank for 3,975D). Imperforate stamps on postally used cover are very rare. Green Fulda custom cachet on front.
