Unified Vietnam, Animals and Plants, December 1984, Michel Nr. 1529-1543; Fifteen stamp were issued in this definitive set wit nominals of 20xu, 30xu, 50xu (four stamps), 1D (four stamps), 2D (three stamps), 5D and 10D were issued in perforation 12.5:12.25 and imperforate. The perforated series was issued with gum while the imperforate series was issued without gum.

Registered air mail letter sent in May of 1985 from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The letter carries half of the Animals and Plants set plus stamps from the Prehistoric Animals, Friendship, Union Congress, Lenin and Dien Bien Phu sets for an overall postage of 59.01D (the red free frank is illegible). The Union Congress stamp shows a double printing of the black color. Error stamps on postally used cover are very rare. Fragment of the green Fulda custom cachet.

The letter carries half of the imperforate Animals and Plants set plus imperforate stamps from the Flat Fish and perforated Border Troops set for an overall postage of 35.1D. Imperforate stamps on postally used cover are very rare.

The letter carries half of the imperforate Animals and Plants set plus imperforate stamps from the Flat Fish and perforated Peace Meeting and Provisional Overprint sets for an overall postage of 34.3D. Imperforate stamps on postally used cover are very rare.

Registered air mail letter sent in December of 1987 from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The letter carries the entire perforated Animals and Plant set and stamps from the Elephant and Costume stamps. The Animal and Plant stamps were denominated in old Dong (27.5). On September 14th, 1985 Vietnam conducted another currency reform in which the old Dong was devalued by 10:1. So the postage value of the A&P stamps on the envelope were only worth one tenth of their face value (2.75 new Dong). The overall postage of the letter amounted to 142.75 new Dong (including the red free frank for 116.2D) . Green Fulda custom cachet on the reverse.

Registered air mail letter sent in December of 1987 as a mixed currency franking from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The letter carries the perforated Motorcycles souvenir-sheet plus stamps from the October Revolution, Prehistoric Animals, Animals and Plants, Ha Long plus some other stamps. The Ha Long set is imperforate. Souvenir-Sheets and imperforate stamps on postally used cove are very rare. The Vietnamese Government conducted a devaluation of the Dong on September 14th, 1985. This meant that all stamps issued prior to this date were only worth one tenth at the time of mailing. The Animals and Plant, Prehistoric Animals, Motorcycles and Ha Long stamps were still denominated in old Dong. The overall postage hence amounted to 52.50 oD = 5.25 nD. plus the red free frank for 111 nD plus stamps in new Dong 155 nD for a total of 271.25 nD. Fragment of the green Fulda custom cachet on front. There is a Montreal transit cancel on the reverse. The letter must have been routed through Canada by mistake.

Registered air mail letter sent in February of 1988 as a mixed currency franking from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The letter carries two blocks of four of the Humane Living stamps on white and grey paper. The top left stamp on the first block shows the plate error of “small passer cross at bottom left of stamp image”. Error stamps on postally used cover are very rare.There are also stamps from the ITALIA Stamp Exhibition, Paracel and Spratley Islands and Animals and Plant sets.   The Animal and Plant stamps were still denominated in old Dong while all other stamps were already denominated in new Dong.  The Vietnamese Government conducted a devaluation of the Dong on September 14th, 1985. This meant that all stamps issued prior to this date were only worth one tenth at the time of mailing. The overall postage hence amounted to 5 oD =0.5 nD. plus the stamps in new Dong (63 nD) plus the red free frank for 1,180 nD for 1,243.50 nD. Green Fulda custom cachet on front.
