Unified Vietnam, 50 Years Communist Party Vietnam, February 3rd, 1980, Michel Nr. 1085-1089; Five stamps with the nominals of 12 xu (two stamps), 20 xu (two stamps) and 2 Dong were issued in perforation 11.0.m. Stamps with the same nominals were printed in the same sheet.

Rare registered air mail letter featuring a mixed franking of three 1D Year of the Child stamps plus stamps from the Sun Flowers and Communist Party sets for an overall postage of 3.30D. Saudi-Arabia is a very rare destination at this time period.

Mixed franking of both 20 xu Communist Party stamps plus the 60xu Einstein stamp paying an overall postage of 1D for an international letter to Czechoslovakia.

Rare registered express mail letter sent to Klewitz in October of 1981. In front it features a pair of the 60 xu Einstein stamp with the right stamp showing the re-touched “8” error. There are also a number of the 20 xu Communist Party stamps. The overall postage amounted to 8.20 Dong (including the 5 Dong red free frank). Unusual red Ho Chi Minh cancel. Rare single franking of the 2D Communist Party stamp on an air mail letter sent from lang Son to Czechoslovakia in June of 1982.

Mixed franking of the 2D Communist Party stamp plus the 60 xu Einstein stamp paying an overall postage of 2.60D on a letter from Hanoi to the President of Caritas in West Germany in June of 1981.

Very interesting and historic cover sent by the Association Vietnamese Lawyers to President of the South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission. The large letter features three of the 2D October Revolution stamps, a 1D Lenin stamp, the 50xu UdSSR stamp and one 20xu Year of the Child stamp for an overall postage of 7.70D.

Mixed franking of the 2D Communist Party stamp together with the 30 xu Fish and 1D Dragon Fly stamp paying an overall postage of 7.30D on this registered air mail letter sent from Hanoi to France in May of 1981.

Very interesting and scarce multiple “stair franking” of the 2D Communist Party stamp paying an overall postage 24D on an air mail letter sent in November of 1983 from HCM City to Stuttgart, West Germany. The overlapping of the stamps was required due to the limited space on the envelope and the fact that large nominals were still scarce at post offices.

Registered letter sent from Nguyen Trai to Klewitz in October of 1983. It features pairs of the Communist Party 2 Dong value with the plate error “missing red color” and the passer-shift of the pink background color. Also the top left stamp of the 2 Dong Defense and Production stamp shows the plate error “partially missing flowers”. Error stamps on postally used cover are very rare. The overall postage amounted to 12 Dong. Green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Registered letter sent to Klewitz in December of 1981. It carries a pair of mis-perforated  green/yellow 12 xu stamps of the 2nd printing (Five Year Plan). There is also a block of nine of the 12 xu stamp 1st printing and one 12 xu Communits Party stamp. The overall postage amounted to 8.34 Dong.

Rare very large registered express mail letter sent from Quan 5 (Cholon) to Klewitz in October of 1981. The letter carries a mass franking of both stamps plus other NVN stamps. Plate errors on Michel Nr. 1123 (extended horizontal line in A, broken N and blue-grey passer cross). There is also a military free frank issued in 1970. Military free franks were not valid for international postage due their lacking nominal. 2 Dong Communist Party stamp on the reverse. Nevertheless the postal clerk did not object.  The overall postage amounted to 12 Dong. Fulda arrival cancel on the reverse. Green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Registered letter sent from Nguyen Trai to Klewitz in May of 1982. The letter features the 90. HCM Birthday set in different color tones plus two of the 12 xu Communist Party stamps for an overall postage of 10.90 Dong (including the red free frank for 5 Dong) . The 40 xu and 50 xu Water Flower tamps are actually intact. They are just cut off from the scan due to an over-lapping album page. Green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Registered letter sent from Nguyen Trai to Klewitz in April of 1982. The letter carries three of the 2 Dong Nutrition Day stamps with the top left stamp showing the plate error “half-moon in emblem”. Plate errors on postally used cover are very rare. 20 xu Communist Party stamp on the reverse. The overall postage amounted to 8.29 Dong. Green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Registered letter sent from Nguyen Trai to Klewitz in May of 1982. The letter carries three of the 2 Dong value of the Nutritional Day set. The bottom left stamp shows the plate error “deformed d”. Two 20 xu Communist Party stamps on the reverse. The overall postage amounted to 8.22 Dong.  Green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Registered letter sent from Nguyen Trai to Klewitz in May of 1982. It features a pair of the Militia stamps in the Post Master Perforations 9.5  (stamps on the left side) that shows the woman looking towards her right. The right pair in perforation 11 shows the woman looking straight ahead. The letter also carries four of the military free frank issued in 1976. Military free franks were not valid for international postage due to their lacking nominal value, however it appears that the postal clerk was not familiar with this regulation. Communist Party stamps on the reverse. The over-all postage amounted to 8.72 Dong. Green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Registered letter setoff rom Nguyen Trai to Klewitz in June of 1982. The letter carries other parts of the Bird of Prey and Pigeon set plus some other NVN stamps for an overall postage of 8.45 Dong. Communist Party stamp on the reverse. Green Fulda custom cachet on front.
