Unified Vietnam, 45 Years Socialist Republic Vietnam, September 1st, 1990, Michel Nr. 2236-2240, Block 83; Four stamps in nominals of 100D, 500D, 1,000D and 3,000D were issued in perforation 13.5:13 and imperforate. There was also a souvenir-sheet with a 3,500D nominal that was perforated 12. 75:13.25 and imperforate. There are questions about the actual issuance date of this set.Klewitz report it to be September 2nd, 1990 as this was the 45th anniversary  of the Ho Chi Minh independence declaration.

The letter carries the perforated Socialist Republic stamp set and the imperforate souvenir-sheet plus stamps from the World Cup Italy and Trucks set for an overall postage of 11,700D. Registered air mail letter sent in October, 1990 from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The letter carries stamps from the overprinted World Cup and Soccer sets plus stamps from the Capital Hue, Socialist Republic and Ministry for Post and Telecommunication sets for an overall postage of 11,750.17D (including the red free frank for 5,350D). The overprinted Soccer stamps that were originally issued in 1982 had a very low nominal value which made them basically useless for postal usage. The letter carries imperforate Touring Car stamps plus stamps from the Shark, Frogs, Communist Party and Socialist Republic sets for an overall postage of 16,500D .
