Unified Vietnam, 40 Years Day of the Invalid, July 27th, 1987, Michel Nr. 1824; A single stamp in a 5D nominal was issued in perforation 13.

The stamp is known in two basis color schemes which can be distinguished by the color of the soldier. Below are pairs of the light colored and dark colored soldier.

Registered air mail letter sent in November of 1987 from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The letter carries five of the Invalid stamps plus stamps from the Corals and Butterflies sets. There are also five military free franks. The ones without a nominal were not valid for international postage but were nevertheless accepted by the postal clerk. The overall postage of the letter amounted to 1,070D (including the red free frank for 890S). Fragment of the green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Registered air mail letter sent in September of 1987 from Ho Chi Minh City to Klwitz. The letter carries the Invalid stamp plus stamps from the Old Ships, Year of Peace, Butterflies and Traditional Minority Costumes for an overall postage of 585D (including the red free frank for 412D). Fragment of the green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Registered air mail letter sent in September of 1987 from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The letter carries the 5D and 30D value with the plate error “small passer-cross at top right” of the Postal Union set plus stamps from the Butterflies, Old Ships, Year of the Cat, Day Invalids and Water and Mountain Spirit set for an overall postage of 571D (including the red free frank for 496D). Green Fulda custom cachets on front.

Registered air mail letter sent in April of 1989 from Ho Chi Minh to Klewitz. The letter carries perforated and imperforate sets of the Cambodian National Day stamps plus stamps from the National Assembly, Hydro Stations, Locomotives and Invalid sets for an overall postage of 7,085D (including the red free frank for 3,505D). Imperforate stamps on postally used cover are very rare. 

Registered air mail letter sent in April of 1989 from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz. The letter carries the perforated Fruits stamps plus stamps from the Insects (souvenir-sheet), Roses (souvenir-sheet), Invalids and Hydro Station sets for an overall postage of 6,640D (including the red free frank for 3,380D). Souvenir-Sheets on postally used cover are very rare. Fragment of the green Fulda custom cachet on front.
