Unified Vietnam, 35 Years Vietnamese Peoples Army, December 22nd, 1979, Michel Nr. 1071-1072; Two stamps, both in the nominals of 12 xu were issued in perforation 11.0. The stamps were printed together in the same sheet.

These stamps were not officially released imperforate, however a very small number of imperforate trial proofs in the colors of the 1979 Military Free Franks (Michel Nr. M33-34) printed on fibrous cardboard like paper. Very rare!

There is some tonality that occurs on this issue caused by what exact mix of colors is guided to the printing plate. Below is a mint block of six stamps that shows a blue-green color tone:

Color off-sets cause by stacking sheets on top of each other with still wet color are known. Below is a mint block of eight stamps (with the two bottom stamps folded up to show the reverse) that shows a wet ink off-set of both printing colors:

Local letter from September of 1980 using one of the 12 xu Peoples Army stamp paying the standard domestic letter rate in force at the time. The letter was sent from Dong Nai to HCM City. HCM City arrival cancel on the reverse. Full contents preserved.

Rare registered express mail letter sent von Nha-Trang to Klewitz in June of 1980. The letter carries the entire Five Year Plan set (1st printing of the green/yellow 12 xu value) plus the Peoples Army set for an overall postage of 4.80 Dong. The pair of 12 xu 35 Years of the Peoples Army stamp show a double horizontal perforation in-between stamps. Error stamps on postally used cover are very rare. Fulda arrival cancel on the reverse. Registered letter sent to Klewitz in December of 1981. It carries a pair of mis-perforated  green/yellow 12 xu Five Year Plan stamps of the 2nd printing. There is also a block of nine of the 12 xu stamp 1st printing and the Peoples Army set. The overall postage amounted to 8.34 Dong.

Rare registered letter sent from Nguyen Trai to Klewitz in June of 1982. The letter carries three of the 1 Dong Day of the Child stamps. They show a double perforation comb strike in-between stamps and on the selvage. Error stamps on postally used cover are very rare. There is also the Peoples Army set. Green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Rare express mail letter sent from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz in January of 1980. It carries three of the 5 xu and five of the 6 xu Flower value. There is also the Peoples Army set. Together with the red free frank of 2.40 Dong the overall postage amounted to 4.79 Dong. Fulda arrival cancel on the reverse. Fulda green custom cachet on front.

Rare registered letter sent from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz in October of 1980. It carries a variety of NVN stamps including a strip of four 10 xu flower stamps that show significant color variations. It also accrues a 50 xu National Liberation stamp issued in 1971. NFL stamps were not valid in North Vietnam as the currency used by the Viet Cong in the South was not compatible with the currency used in the North. The stamp was nevertheless accepted by the postal clerk. Without the NLF stamp the postage amounted to 2.50 Dong. Pair of the Peoples Army set on the reverse. Green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Registered air mail letter sent from Dalat to Klewitz in December of 1981. It carries the flower stamps in different color shades (light and dark) It also carries pairs of the Lotus stamp Perf. 11.0 on yellowish paper and the post master perforations 9.5, 14 and 15 as well two im-perforated pairs. Post master perforations and im-perforated stems on postally used cover are very rare. Peoples Army stamp on the reverse. Unusual black free frank for 5.60 Dong on the reverse. The overall postage amounted to 8.14 Dong.

Registered letter sent from Ho Chi Minh City to Klewitz in July of 1980. The letter carries the entire Lenin set. The 1 Dong stamps show the color variance of an grey-ocre star instead of an orange star. There are also three 10 xu Flower stamps in different color variations. Error stamps on postally used cover are very rare. Peoples Army stamp on the reverse. The overall postage amounted to 3 Dong. Green Fulda custom cachet on front.

Registered letter sent from Nguyen Rai to Klewitz. The letter shows different varieties of the red HCM stamp. The top stamp shows the plate error of “blind right eye” and the bottom stamp significant passer-shifts. Peoples Army stamp on front. The overall postage amounted to 8.2 Dong (including the red free frank for 4.7 Dong). Green Fulda custom cachet on front.
